Data Deletion

1. Who this page is for

This page explains how to request deletion of personal data held by ThisCity WiFi when you have bought guest internet vouchers, created a phone and PIN account, or signed in with Google.

2. How to request deletion

Email info@thiscity.app with the subject line WiFi Data Deletion Request and include:

• the phone number used for your WiFi account;
• the email address used for Google sign-in, if applicable;
• a short statement that you want your ThisCity WiFi account and personal data deleted;
• any active voucher codes or recent purchase dates, if known.

To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm ownership using your account PIN, a recent payment reference, or the Google account linked to the WiFi account.

3. What we delete

After verifying your request, we aim to delete or anonymise:

• WiFi account profile information (name, phone number, PIN hash, Google link);
• account sign-in links and session preferences stored for the portal;
• voucher credentials and customer contact fields linked to your account where deletion is permitted;
• active session records associated with your vouchers, where technically possible.

Usage history linked to your account or vouchers may be retained where required for fraud prevention, network security, accounting, or response to lawful requests from authorities.

4. What may be retained

Some records may be kept where necessary for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or network security reasons, including:

• payment confirmations and mobile money transaction references;
• aggregated or anonymised usage statistics;
• security logs showing that a connection occurred, without retaining unnecessary personal details longer than needed.

Financial and voucher sale records may be archived for up to seven (7) years where required for tax, accounting, or legal compliance. Where possible, retained records are limited to what the law requires.

5. Processing time

Verified requests are usually processed within 30 days. We will email you when deletion is complete or explain if part of the request cannot be fulfilled for legal reasons.

6. Data on your device

Information stored locally in your browser, such as saved account sign-in details or captive-portal session data, is not deleted by us automatically. Clear your browser site data for thiscitywifi.web.app or sign out in My account to remove local storage on your device.
